What is Digestible Discoveries?

Digestible Discoveries is a complete, standards-informed middle school curriculum delivered in magazine-style units. Each unit explores a unique theme and includes 20 lessons integrating history, science, art, and language arts.

Use individual units for flexible learning, or complete 7–9 units together to create a full year of middle school instruction.

Who is Digestible Discoveries for?

Our magazine-style unit studies are designed to be open-and-go with middle age (grades 6–9) in mind, but many families find it works well for 4th and 5th graders or even as a lighter supplement for high school students. Parents love that the lessons are short, interesting, and adaptable for different learning styles.

Why should I use Digestible Discoveries?

Instead of heavy textbooks or long unit studies, Digestible Discoveries delivers bite-sized learning.

  • Complete Curriculum: Covers history, science, art, and language arts in a fully integrated way.

  • Theme-Based Learning: Units help students make connections across subjects.

  • Flexible: 30 minute lessons fit any homeschool schedule.

  • Engaging: Hands-on projects, creative activities, and thought-provoking questions.

  • Full-Year Option: Using 7–9 units with suggested novels provides a full-year middle school curriculum experience.

  • Standards-Informed: Lessons are built using commonly accepted middle school learning expectations.

How much time does it take each day?

Most families spend 30 minutes per day working through a lesson. You can use it as a quick daily warm-up, a morning basket resource, or expand on the lessons with included optional projects, activities, and discussions to make a full curriculum.

Do I need to buy extra books or supplies?

Nope! Each issue is self-contained and ready to use. Occasionally, we’ll suggest optional activities that might require common household items, art supplies, or a library book, but everything you need for the core lessons is included. Supply lists for each unit are located in your Learning Integrated account under resources. You will need to be logged in to view the supply list and additional resources.

How can I purchase Digestible Discoveries?

You can get each issue in the format that works best for your homeschool:

  • Digital (PDF) format – Instantly downloadable after purchase. Perfect if you want immediate access and the flexibility to print only what you need.

  • Print format – Shipped directly to your home for hands-on use.

Can I use this as a full curriculum?

Digestible Discoveries is designed as a full curriculum connecting history, science, art, and language arts. While it covers multiple subjects, it does not include a math component. For families seeking a full-year schedule in science, history, art, and language arts, we recommend completing 7–9 units and including one suggested novel per unit. Suggested novels are provided for each unit to help guide your reading. There are multiple suggested activities, writing practice, and science labs included with each unit to make it a full curriculum. To access additional activities and novel suggestions please make sure that you sign into Learning Integrated and then select resources.

What ages can use Digestible Discoveries together?

Because the lessons are short and flexible, siblings in different grades can often learn together. Activities are easily adjusted to different levels of ability and interest. This can easily be adapted as a read-a-loud for younger students.

Is this Secular?

Yes. I have chosen not to include Bible studies in this curriculum—not because I believe it is not important, but because I recognize that each family and individual experiences different seasons in life. What my family feels led to study at this time may differ from what your family is being called to explore. I believe that Bible study is a deeply personal and spiritual decision, best determined by your unique circumstances and needs.
